My baby brother being 18 months old and me being 18 years old left a massive gap in age between us, I was so scared that the age gap would create a barrier between us and that we wouldn’t get on at all, but that couldn’t be further from reality. As soon as I laid eyes on him he became my entire world, as an older sibling I know I would do anything to protect him and will no doubt be extremely over-protective of him. I thought I would write a blog post about him and couldn’t think of anything better than a few things that I want to tell him for the future.

- I don’t want you to ever be scared to do anything at all, the only thing that I regret are the things I didn’t do or say! You will learn and grow from everything you do in life, and any mistakes you make I will be there to pick you up and dust you off. I want you to be courageous and brave when you are older and it takes guts to do the things you want to do in life.

- You are the most gorgeous boy in the world, and I’m not just saying that because your my little brother, I say that because it’s true, you are the best looking boy in the universe! Don’t ever feel like you are anything less than gorgeous.

- Please never feel alone, anything you go through I’ll be there for you! I don’t want you to feel like you ever have to go through anything alone and take on any burden by yourself. I know what it’s like to feel alone but never ever forget that the people you have around you will always be the ones who care the most.

- You could never be a hassle, whether your drunk and puking and cant get home or you just need someone to listen to you and be there for you, I can be your friend and be there for you! It’s always hard to know what to do in life but I will always do my best to help you through things that you might feel you can’t tell mum.

- Break ups are never as bad as you think they will be, yes you will be hurt by someone one day but these experiences in love always get you prepared for the right person, although you might think you’ll never be happy without that person, you will always be happy again.

- Always treat women with respect, as your older sister I would be extremely hurt if you were to ever mistreat a woman. Myself and our mum have always aimed at you becoming a little gentleman and I really hope you continue this on as a man!

-If you ever need anything, I will get you it! Or at least try my best to! People may say your spoiled but that’s fine, I was spoiled as an only child and I want you to get the same experience as I had!

- I will always, always believe in you, no matter what! You are amazing, even as a baby you are a smart, bubbly and talented child, I honestly believe that you can overcome anything to achieve what you want to do! You should always believe in yourself because I know so many people already believe in you and your only 18 months old!!

- Mum will tell you she loves you every day, don’t get embarrassed by this, she does this to remind you how much she cares and that she always will care! She also wants you to know she loves you in case anything were to ever happen to her, please remember that before you roll your eyes at her. It took me way too long to realise this and once I did I cherished every ‘I love you’ she’s ever told me.

- Please don’t ever feel embarrassed to believe something or have an opinion, your opinion is extremely important in the world, you could change the world! I honestly believe that because of how much I believe in you!

- Your dad and our mum will always highlight the importance of education and I agree education is important, but you should always remember that your mental health is a lot more important! If school is getting too much, don’t suppress these feelings! If school isn’t for you, there are many other options in life and I will help you choose if it comes to that.

-I will always accept you for who you are, no matter what. Don’t be ashamed if you are different.

- Your big sister is always right, unless mum disagrees, because mum is literally always right. Trust me, after hours of arguing under my belt I have come to realise that sadly, mum is always right.

- Our family is extremely weird and hilariously dysfunctional, but we do love each other a lot! I completely understand if you get embarrassed by us though, I used to! But you start enjoying it after a while!

- I will always, always have your back. I love you more than anything! Nothing will ever change that!

Hopefully one day my brother reads this and understands everything I meant.Thank you all to anyone who read this! If you have siblings or children do you have any words of wisdom you would like to tell them, if so what?
